Sri Lanka Customs records highest-ever single-day tax revenue
Oct 17 (NW) Sri Lanka Customs has recorded its highest-ever single-day tax revenue, collecting Rs. 2,470 million on October 15, 2025, the Department announced today. According to Director General of Customs, the total revenue collected so far this year amounts to Rs. 1,867 billion, placing the department on track to surpass its annual target of Rs. 2,115 billion. Oct 17 (FT) Inland Revenue Department has exceeded its tax revenue target for the first nine months of 2025, collecting 102% of the estimate, according to data presented to the Parliamentary Committee on Ways and Means. The dept collected Rs. 1.64 trillion by the end of September, against an expected Rs. 1.61 trillion, reaching 75% of its full-year goal of Rs. 2.19 trillion.
