Tax revenue jumps 26% in 1H25

Aug 5 (TM) SL’s tax revenue collection has jumped by about 26% in the first half of 2025 compared to the corresponding period last year, driven by revenue from VAT and excise duties. Aug 5 (DM) The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has recorded a significant increase in vehicle registrations this year, with a total of 133,678 vehicles registered as of July 2025, Commissioner General Kamal Amarasinghe said.
