Luscious Almond Cheese cake

    Crust:
    1 1/4C. Crushed vanilla wafers
    3/4C. Finely chopped almonds
    1/4C. Sugar
    1/3C. Butter or margarine, melted
    Combine wafers, almonds and sugar, add butter and mix well. Press into bottom of ungreased pan.

    Filling:
    4pkg. (8 oz) Cream cheese, softened
    1 1/4C. Sugar
    4 Eggs
    1 1/2tsp. Almond extract
    1 tsp. Vanilla
    Beat cream cheese and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Add extracts - beat just enough to blend. Pour into crust.
    Bake at 350ºF for 55 minutes or until center is almost set.
    Remove from oven. Let stand for 5 minutes.

    Topping:
    2C. Sour cream
    1/4C. Sugar
    1tsp. Vanilla
    Combine sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Spread over the filling. Return to oven for 5 minutes. Let it cool on the rack. Chill overnight. May top with toasted sliced almonds before serve.
